USA-MADE DURABILITY - Manufactured from high-grade Black acetal copolymer, these 1/4 inch diameter rods offer excellent strength, wear resistance, and machinability PLEASE NOTE these rods have a ±1/8 inch cut tolerance SUPERIOR DELRIN ROD - Made from acetal copolymer (POM-C), these plastic dowel rods work just like a Delrin round stock (POM-H) but with extra perks. Our Delrin plastic rod alternatives are less prone to cracking, holds shape better, and handles wet or humid environments with ease PRECISE & READY TO USE - Each 1/4 inch diameter plastic rod is 24 inches long and precision cut for consistent results in CNC machining, turning, or milling projects with tight tolerances. Durable dowel rod for crafting, structural support, or DIY builds VERSATILE INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS - Perfect for mechanical parts like bushings, spacers, guides, and gears, these 24 inch acetal rods are trusted in robotics, marine applications, custom tools, and instrument making by hobbyists and pros alike EASY TO MACHINE WITHOUT MELTING - These 24 inch plastic rods resist heat buildup during cutting and can be easily machined with saws, lathes, CNC routers, drills, or milling machines without gumming, cracking, or distortion under pressure AVAILABLE IN MULTIPLE SIZES: Duco's acetal plastic rods come in a wide array of different shapes in sizes to suit almost any project you can think of. Our selection includes long plastic rods that measure 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, and 48 inches long and each rod length comes in a variety of diameters measuring at, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, and 2 inches in diameter. We have it all, and the best part is that our rods are is all made out of high-quality material and perfectly cut right here in the United States of America! POM-H VS. POM-C: When assessing what type of acetal rod makes sense to use in your next project there is a lot to consider. Will the rods be able to withstand the high stress of being cut? How will they look afterward? If you use them in a high-stress, corrosive, moist or hot environment, will they last? Finally, you have to decide between homopolymer (POM-H) or copolymer (POM-C) material. When taking all of these questions into consideration, the choice between POM-H and POM-C becomes easy. Delrin round stock (POM-H) is an inferior material as copolymer acetal hosts so many benefits when these two are compared to one another. POM-C is more smooth, resistant to cracks and scratches, resistant to chemicals, and electrically resistant than acetal homopolymers. In addition, the centerline porosity of acetal copolymer is very minimal and can occasionally achieve zero, meaning the core of the rod does not let anything in or out, whether it be water or gas. This is not the case with acetal homopolymer. All in all, the choice is clear when searching for a long-lasting material to use for any unique and special project.
